UN chief, prime minister discuss Syrian refugees
Ban Ki-moon, Hwang Gyo-an meet after Ban’s Jeju Forum keynote address

United Nations Secretary general Ban Ki-moon and Prime minister Hwang Gyo-an have agreed to cooperate on the Syrian refugee issue.

The two met after Ban’s Thursday keynote speech at the Jeju Forum. They discussed the May 23rd World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. The UN chief lauded Korea for providing substantial assistance to Syrian refugees through its detailed pledge for support.

Prime minister Hwang responded by saying Korea would continue to cooperate with the United Nations to support its humanitarian causes.

'세계 인도 지원 정상회의'에서 시리아 난민 문제 등과 관련해
구체적인 공약을 통해 실질적인 도움을 줬다고
높이 평가했습니다.

황 총리는 앞으로 국제사회 주요 관심 사안에 대한
인도적 지원에 유엔과 긴밀히 협력하겠다고 말했습니다.
