Grant program for fishing-related workers expanded
Recipients to receive \500,000

Every islander with a fishing-related job will become eligible for a government grant this year.

The province has expanded the scope of the program to include all fishing villages on the island, rather than just those deemed “disadvantaged.”

This means the province will pay each eligible person in the province’s seven “eup” and myeon districts 500,000 won. It will make about 2,800 payments worth some 1.47 billion won.

To be eligible, a person make over 1.2 million won a year from selling seafood products or work in the field for more than 60 days a year. People with other regular employment or anyone who received an agricultural grant last year are not eligible.

The money will be released by the end of the year, following a final assessment by the provincial government.

조건불리지역 수산직불금 지원대상이
올해부터 도서지역에서 제주도 전지역으로 확대됩니다.

제주시는 이에따라 7개 읍.면 2천800여 어가에
수산직불금으로 50만원씩 모두 14억700만원을 지원합니다.

신청자격은 수산물 연간 판매액이 120만원 이상이거나
1년에 60일 이상 어업에 종사한 어업인이며,
직장인이나 지난해 농업직불금을 수령한 경우는
지급대상에서 제외됩니다.

제주시는 수산직불금 신청 어가를 대상으로 적격여부를 확인해
오는 12월까지 지급하기로 했습니다.
