Jeju City to inspect parking spaces for misuse
14 violations uncovered last year

The Jeju City municipal administration will send out inspectors next month to look for parking spaces that are being misused.

Parking is at a premium with the ever-increasing number of cars on island roads. This move follows recent cases in which authorities found some designated parking spaces being used for storage or office space.

If the owner of a misused parking space fails to restore it to its original purpose after two warnings, he or she will be criminally charged.

Last year, officials have uncovered 14 cases of misused parking spaces. All of them are now being properly used for parking.

제주시가 건축물 부설주차장 이용 활성화를 위해
다음달 7일부터 한달동안 특별 지도점검에 나섭니다.

이번 점검에서는 부설주차장의 본래 기능 유지 여부와
창고나 사무실 등 다른 용도로 사용하는 경우가 집중 단속됩니다.

특히 주차장을 다른 용도로 사용하는 경우
2차까지 원상회복 명령을 내리고
이에 불응할 경우 바로 형사고발할 방침입니다.

제주시는 지난해 부설주차장 특별 지도점검을 통해
물건적치 등 14건을 적발해 원상복구 조치했습니다.
