Construction begins on Jeju Dream Tower
Twin buildings will house casino, restaurants, hotel, etc.

Construction is now underway on twin buildings that will dominate the Jeju skyline.

Lotte Tour Development and the Chinese real estate company Greenland Group say they have started work on two 38-story buildings, together called the Jeju Dream Tower. The provincial government issued a building permit last week.

Construction is expected to be completed by July 2019. The Dream Tower will have a total of 1,626 hotel rooms, a shopping mall that spans 39,000 square meters with more than 100 boutique shops, 15 restaurants, and a foreigners-only casino, outfitted with 200 gaming tables and 400 slot machines.

It is expected to provide 2,200 people with new jobs. Analysts say that once opened, among all of the island’s tourist sites, it will offer the highest average salaries to workers and be the largest source of tax revenue.

롯데관광개발측은 이번 사업을 통해 2천 200개의 일자리를 창출하고 제주에서 가장 높은 평균 임금, 관광진흥기금을 가장 많이 내는 관광명소로 만들겠다고 밝혔습니다.
