Paul Robert Potts, who won Britain's Got Talent and claimed the No.1 spot in the UK with his debut album recently visited a local school for the disabled, delivering a message of hope to the students. Mike Laidman reports.

He talks to students about the ups and downs of his life and his dreams.

Paul Potts appeared on stage to heavy applause.


Between student performances, he answered questions from the students.

He revealed that he developed his love of singing from an early age, but that setbacks from surgery for a tumor and a bicycle accident frustrated him.

Potts emphasized that he never gave up hope despite these mishaps and other financial difficulties.

Never ever give up. LIfe is strange sometimes, it can take you in different directions. When you think you’d have to go straight to get through the tunnel, life will bend you through. So keep moving forward.

On the small stage, Potts sang ‘Nessun Dorma,’ the song which was a turning point in his life. He won Britain's Got Talent with the piece.



It was not only his impressive voice but also his life story that deeply touched the students.
