Three local projects awarded national funding
Presidential committee chooses from among 27 iniatives

The Presidential Committee on Regional Development has awarded funding to three projects in Jeju.

The committee selected them from among 27 island development projects. It decided to help finance the development of villages surrounding Jeju’s Global Geoparks, the construction of the Kim Man Deok Memorial Hall, and the establishment of the nation’s southernmost global school for children of multicultural families.

The three projects will receive 380 million won in national funding as an incentive for continuing their exceptional content as well as for their expected contributions to local society.

'지질공원 활성화' 지역발전 우수사업 선정

대통령직속 지역발전위원회가 평가한 전국 우수사업에 제주에서도
지질공원 활성화 사업 등 세개 분야가 선정됐습니다.

지역발전위는 전국 국비 지원 사업 27개 가운데
제주에서는 세계지질공원 핵심마을 활성화사업과
김만덕 기념관 건립사업, 최남단 글로벌 다문화 창조학교 사업 등
3개를 선정했습니다.

해당 사업들은 우수 콘텐츠 개발로 인한 홍보효과를 높이고
지역경제 활성화에도 기여한 것으로 평가되면서
인센티브로 국비 3억 8천여 만 원을 지원 받습니다.
