Homeowners want official house appraisals lowered
‘Tax bills are too high’

Residents are calling for the province to lower the official prices on their homes, saying their tax bills are too much of a burden.

During a survey held from April 29th until the end of May, the provincial government asked 53,800 families whose homes were to be appraised to submit their thoughts on the matter. 264 homeowners did so, and 256 of them wanted the appraised values for their homes to be lowered. That’s 74 percent more than a year earlier.

Officials say homeowners are struggling as the spike in home values has caused an accompanying spike in tax bills on those homes.

The families that made the requests will have their houses re-appraised and the new values submitted to the real estate evaluation board. The figures will then be made public on June 30th.

주택가격 상승에 따른 세금 부담 등으로
개발주택가격을 내려달라는 요구가 크게 늘었습니다.

제주시가 지난 4월 29일부터 한달동안
개별주택가격 공시대상 5만 3천800여 호에 대해
이의신청을 받은 결과 264건이 접수됐다고 밝혔습니다.
이 가운데 하향요구는 동지역 184건, 읍면지역 80건 등 모두 256건으로
지난해보다 74% 증가했습니다.

제주시는 주택가격 상승으로 세부담이 늘게 돼 개별주택가격을 낮춰 달라고
요구하는 것으로 파악하고 있습니다.

제주시는 이의신청이 접수된 주택에 대해서는
감정평가사의 재검증 작업와 부동산평가위원회 심의를 거쳐
오는 30일 조정공시할 예정입니다.
