Wet weather boosts groundwater level
Precipitation up 50% in last 6 months

The relatively wet weather we’ve been having has boosted Jeju’s groundwater level.

According to the Jeju Office of Water Resources, the average level in 130 island wells this year is 9.5 meters. That’s almost a meter above the 8.6 meters recorded a year ago.

It’s 2.2 meters above the levels measured in 2013 and 2014, when the island was suffering from drought conditions.

We’ve had 50 percent more precipitation than usual since the end of 2015.

상승한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주특별자치도 수자원본부에 따르면
올해 130군대 지하수 관정 평균수위는 9.5미터로
평년 수치인 8.6미터에 비해 0.9미터 상승했습니다.

특히 가뭄이 심했던 지난 2013년과 2014년에 비해서는
평균 2.2미터가 높아졌습니다.

제주도는 지난해말부터 현재까지
평년에 비해 50% 이상 비가 더 내리면서
지하수 수위를 끌어 올리는 것으로 분석했습니다.
