Haga-ri dolmen reported to Cultural Heritage Administration
Seoul will manage site if CHA designates it ‘cultural heritage’

KCTV exclusively covered the recent discovery of a dolmen in Haga-ri, and authorities have now asked the Cultural Heritage Administration to officially designate the find.

Provincial officials recently visited the site to take measurements, and then submitted a report to the administration regarding the discovery.

If designated as cultural heritage, it will be managed and protected by the national government.

The stone structure was recently discovered in Haga-ri, Aewol-eup. It was the first discovery of a ‘wiseok’-style dolmen in this region.

문화재청에서 보완조사나 문화재 지정 여부를 지시하면
본격적인 관리에 들어갈 예정입니다.

애월읍 하가리에는 최근 제주 고유의 형태인
'위석식' 고인돌이 발견됐으며 이 같은 형태의 고인돌이
이 지역에서 발견된 것은 이번이 처음입니다.
