Rental car accidents soar during summer
25% of yearly accidents in July, August

Most traffic accidents involving involving rental cars occur during the peak summer season.

According to a national association of rental companies, there were over 6,500 accidents in Jeju last year involving rental cars. That’s 98 percent more than the year before.

About a quarter of them, around 1,660 accidents, happened in July and August.

Fender-benders were the most common type of accident, followed by major collisions and then rear-enders.


렌터카 사고, 여름 휴가철 '집중'

관광 성수기인 여름 휴가철에 렌터카 사고가 가장 많이 발생하는 것으로 나타났습니다.

전국렌터카공제조합에 따르면 지난해 제주에서 발생한 렌터카 사고는
6천500여 건으로 전년보다 98% 증가했습니다.

이 가운데 7월과 8월에 발생한 사고는 1천 660건으로 전체 사고의 25%를 차지하고 있습니다.

사고 유형별로는 접촉사고가 가장 많고 충돌과 추돌 사고가 뒤를 잇고 있습니다.
