Work on LNG supply system to begin this month
Island-wide pipe system set to be complete in about 3 years

The Korea Gas Corporation will begin building a natural gas supply system in Jeju this month.

The facilities will be used to supply natural gas to the whole island from the LNG terminal at Aewol Harbor in Jeju City. The system is set to be operational as early as August 2019.

The Korea Gas Corporation will establish eight stations across Jeju to manage the 81 kilometers of 20-inch pipes that will be used to supply the natural gas.

Once complete, the system will be able to distribute up to 150,000 tons of relatively-affordable natural gas every year.


제주에 천연가스 공급위한 설비 공사 추진

한국가스공사가 제주도에 천연가스를 공급하기 위한 설비를 갖추기 위해
이달부터 공사에 들어갑니다.

이번 공사는 제주시 애월항 LNG 인수기지에서 공급되는
천연가스를 제주 전역으로 보내기 위한 배관 공사로 오는 2019년 8월 완공을 목표로 진행됩니다.

한국가스공사는 제주도에 81km에 달하는 20인치 배관을 비롯해 공급에 필요한 8개 관리사무소를 설치합니다.

공급설비가 완공되면 연간 15만 톤의 저렴한 천연가스가
제주 전지역에 공급됩니다.
