Airport car rental building to close August 31
4-year-old facility blamed for worsening traffic around airport

Four years after the car rental service building at Jeju International Airport was built, plans have been finalized for its closure, which will take place on August 31st.

Representatives from the provincial government and the Korea Airports Corporation say that, in its place, shuttle buses will run between the airport and off-site rental companies.

Over 100 rental firms have been using the building, which has been cited as one of the main reasons for the heavy traffic around the airport.

제주공항 렌터카 하우스 폐쇄…셔틀버스 투입

제주국제공항의 렌터카 하우스가 결국 4년만에 폐쇄됩니다.

제주특별자치도와 한국공항공사 제주지역본부, 그리고 제주도 자동차대여사업조합은 오는 8월 31일부로 제주국제공항의 렌터카 하우스를 폐쇄하기로 결정했습니다.

대신 9월부터 제주국제공항과 각 렌터카업체를 연결하는 셔틀버스를 운영하기로 했습니다.

제주도는 이같은 제도시행으로 공항 진출입로의 극심한 교통정체를 해소하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
