Jeju City free from cow-related diseases for 13th straight year
5,000 animals tested March-May, more to be examined August-October

The municipal government says Jeju City remains free of cow-related infectious diseases like tuberculosis and brucella for the 13th straight year.

Tests of five thousand animals from March through May all came back negative.

The last time a cow-related contagious disease was found here was in 2003.

Officials plan to test the animals that were not examined in the first round from this August through October.

제주시가 결핵과 브루셀라 등 소 전염병이 없는 청정지역임이 다시 한 번 입증됐습니다.

제주시는 3월부터 석달동안 소 5천여마리에 대해 표본 혈청 검사를 실시한 결과, 모두 음성으로 판정됐다고 밝혔습니다.

지난 2003년, 소 전염병 청정지역으로 선포한후 13년째 청정지역을 유지하고 있습니다.

제주시는 8월부터 석달동안 이번에 검사하지 않은 소들을 대상으로도 감염 여부를 다시 한 번 확인하기로 했습니다.
