1,390 multicultural students in Jeju
23% increase year-on-year, mostly elementary students

The number of multicultural students in Jeju is on the rise.

According to the Provincial Office of Education, some 1,390 students from multicultural families were attending elementary, middle, and high schools across the island as of April 1st.

That’s 23 percent, or 270 students, more than in 2015.

The biggest rise was in the number of elementary school students. That figure grew by 211 over the year.

제주에 다문화학생이 크게 증가하고 있습니다.
제주도교육청에 따르면 지난 4월 1일 기준으로 도내 유치원과 초,중,고등학교에 다니는
다문화학생은 1천390여 명 입니다.

이는 지난해 말 기준 1천120여 명에 비해 23%, 270명 정도 증가한 겁니다.
특히 초등학생이 211명이 늘어 대부분을 차지했습니다.
