2 arrested for organizing sexual services for Chinese gamblers
Police say local casinos not directly involved

Police say they have confirmed suspicions that Chinese gamblers at local casinos have been offered sexual services.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency arrested a 38-year-old travel agency representative identified only by his surname Song… and his employee, a 38-year-old identified only as Ahn on suspicion organizing the services for the gamblers.

Three other men, including the head of a so-called ‘image club’ with the last name Kim, have been indicted for hiring women to provide the services.

Police say they now have proof that sexual services were provided over 230 times to Chinese customers between July 2013 and October 2015. Authorities also say they have confirmed the organizers of the ring attracted customers through Chinese websites and social media.

The police added, however, that their findings did not show that the services were directly linked to Jeju’s casinos.

서울소재 모 여행사대표인 38살 송 모씨와 직원 38살 안 모씨를 속했다고 밝혔습니다.

경찰은 또 이들에게 성매매 여성을 제공한 도내 이미지 클럽 업체 대표인 40살 김 모씨 등 3명을 불구속 입건했습니다.

경찰에 따르면 이들은 지난 2013년 7월부터 지난해 10월까지 중국 웹사이트와 SNS를 통해 카지노 관광객을 대상으로 성매매 유인광고를 내고 모두 230여 차례에 걸쳐 성매매를 알선한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

다만 경찰은 이번 성매매가 도내 카지노와 직접적으로 연관된 것은 아니라고 덧붙였습니다.
