Land sales in Seogwipo ‘stabilizing’
Mainlanders’ buying spree slowing down

City officials say land sales in Seogwipo are stabilizing.

Some 17,000 plots of land were sold in the first half of 2016, and that’s 12 percent more than a year ago. But the total area of those plots fell 15 percent year-on-year from 2,300 square meters to just 2,000.

By region, 44 percent fewer transactions were recorded in Seongsan, 35 percent fewer in Namwon, and 22 percent fewer in Andeok. There were 25 percent more land sales in eastern regions of the city.

Analysts say the overall decrease is being driven by a drop in land purchases by mainlanders.

서귀포시에 따르면,
올해 상반기 동안 거래된 토지는
1만 7천여 필지로
지난해 같은 기간보다 12% 증가했습니다.

면적으로는 올해 거래량이 2천만 제곱미터로
지난해 2천 300만 제곱미터보다 15% 줄었습니다.

토지거래 면적을 지역별로 보면,
성산읍이 44%, 남원읍 35%, 안덕면 22% 줄어든 반면
동지역은 25% 늘었습니다.

특히 서울 등 다른지역에 거주하는 사람이
사들인 토지 면적이 지난해보다 56% 감소하면서
전체 토지거래 면적 증가율을 끌어내렸다는 분석입니다.
