Illegal nighttime parking ‘still rampant’

Jeju City officials say illegal nighttime parking remains a huge problem.

During the three-month March to May period, 419 cases of illegal parking were reported involving vehicles parked for over one hour in residential areas, around parks, or on the side of the road.

Most, 225, involved tour buses. Another 169 were corporate vehicles and 22 were taxis.

The city collected 63 million won in fines for the violations, and officials say they will continue to crack down on the practice.

제주시내 주택가와 공터, 도로변에서
야간에 1시간 이상 불법주차한
사업용자동차를 단속해 419건을 적발했습니다.

차종별로 보면
관광버스가 225건으로 가장 많았고
화물차 169건, 택시 22건 등의 순으로 적발됐습니다.

제주시는 다른 지역의 차량 65건을 제외한
나머지에 대해
모두 6천300만 원의 과징금을 부과하고
지속적으로 불법 주차를 단속할 방침입니다.
