Insufficient parking at Jeolmul Natural Recreation Forest
Nearly 2,000 more cars per month compared to last year

More people are visiting Jeolmul Natural Recreation Forest and they’re having a hard time finding a parking space.

Forest officials say 324,000 people had visited this year through the end of June. That’s 20 percent more than a year ago.

Those visitors have driven some 51,000 small and mid-sized cars to the forest - 28 percent more than last year. That works out to about 1,900 more cars every month than in 2015, with the tally peaking every weekend and holiday.

제주시 절물자연휴양림을 찾는 탐방객들이 증가하면서
주말에는 주차난까지 빚어지고 있습니다.

제주시 절물생태관리사무소에 따르면
올들어 지난달까지 입장객 수는 32만4천여 명으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 20% 이상 증가했습니다.

특히 중소형 승용차 주차대수는 5만1천여 대로
지난해 같은 기간보다 28% 증가했습니다.

이는 중소형차 이용이 월평균 1천900여 대가 증가한 것으로
주말과 공휴일에는 주차난까지 빚어지고 있습니다.
