Jeju City population to top 480,000 by year-end
Nearly 7,000 new residents in first 6 months of year

The population in Jeju City is expected to top 480,000 by the end of the year.

Officials say the population stood at just over 477,500 at the end of June. That’s 6,800 more than at the end of last year.

That’s average growth of over 1,000 new residents per month.

Some 371,400 lived in dong (동) administrative districts, 4,700 more than last year. Eup and myeon districts gained 2,090 new residents to end with a population right around 106,000.

인구유입이 지속되면서
제주시 인구가 연말에는 48만명을 넘어설 것으로 전망됩니다.

제주시에 따르면
올 상반기 기준 제주시 인구는 47만7천500여 명으로
지난해보다 6천800여 명 증가했습니다.

특히 매달 1천명 이상 증가하면서
올해 말에는 48만명을 넘어설 전망입니다.

지역별로는 읍면지역이 10만6천여 명으로 2천90여명 증가했고
동지역 인구도 4천700여 명 증가한 37만1천400여 명으로 집계됐습니다.
