BOK freezes key rate
Rate left unchanged at record low 1.25%

The Bank of Korea has kept its key interest rate unchanged at 1.25 percent.

The announcement to freeze the record low rate was made Thursday by BOK Governor Lee Ju Yeol.

The BOK decided not to cut the rate because of the post-Brexit impact on the global economy, but said that it would closely monitor the international market and any changes in monetary policies in major countries.

The key interest rate was cut to its current all-time low of 1.25 percent last month.

한은은
현재 브렉시트 등으로 국제금융시장의 변수가 많은 만큼
금리를 동결해 앞으로의 상황을 지켜보겠다는 입장입니다.

한편 기준금리는
지난달 사상 최저수준인 연 1.25%로 떨어졌습니다.
