Jeju land prices rise 5.71% in H1
Highest growth in country

Land prices in Jeju rose at the highest rate in the nation in the first half of 2016.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says Jeju land prices rose an average 5.71 percent over the first six months of the year, compared to last December.

Prices rose 6.08 percent in Seogwipo and 5.49 percent in Jeju City. Those were the top two growth rates in the country.

Within Jeju, prices rose the most in Pyoseon-myeon at 8.25 percent, followed by Gujwa-eup at 8.16 percent, and Seongsan-eup at 7.78 percent.

Government officials attributed the growth to last November’s announcement that a second airport will be built in Jeju.

상반기 지가변동률을 산출한 결과 제주의 땅값은 5.71% 올라
전국에서 가장 높은 상승률을 보였습니다.

특히 제주 서귀포시와 제주시는 땅값이 각각 6.08%와 5.49% 올라
상승률로만 봤을 때 전국 시, 군, 구 가운데 1위와 2위를 기록했습니다.

세부 지역별로는 표선면 8.25%, 구좌읍 8.16%, 성산읍 7.78% 순으로 땅값이 올랐습니다.

국토부는 지난해 11월 발표된 제2공항 후보지 주변으로 투자수요가 몰리면서 제주의 땅값이 뛴 것으로 보고 있습니다.
