Jeju-Busan sea route reopens
Blue Star, Red Star ferries resume operation after year-long hiatus

The Jeju-Busan sea route that closed operations last June is now back in operation. This will mean a substantial boost in the number of passengers and freight moving between the mainland and the island.

The provincial government says the Blue Star and Red Star ferries will share one cruise port and alternate operations to transport passengers between Jeju and Busan.

The Blue Star ferry can carry up to 613 passengers and 2,400 tons of freight, and the Red Star ferry has a total passenger capacity of 880 and can carry 2,200 tons of freight.

The latest resumption of ferry operations has boosted the number of sea routes and ferries that travel out of Jeju to 6 and 10, respectively.

제주-부산 뱃길 1년만 재개

지난해 6월 이후 중단됐던 제주 부산 뱃길이 재개 됩니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 제주 부산을 오가는 블루스타호와 레드스타호가 기존 여객선이 사용하는 부두를 공동사용하기로 하면서
오늘부터 운항을 재개하고 있습니다.

블루스타호는 6천 6백여 톤으로 승객 613명과 화물 2천 4백여톤을 실을 수 있고 레드스타호는 정원 880명에 화물 2천 2백여 톤을 수송할 수 있습니다.

이번 제주 - 부산 항로의 운항 재개로 제주와 다른지방을 오가는 뱃길은 6개 항로에 10척으로 늘어났습니다.
