Jeju City to subsidize driving lessons for the disabled

Jeju City is accepting applications for subsidized driving lessons for the disabled.

Disabled official residents of the city who have already passed the written portion of the driving exam are eligible for 500,000 won to practice driving manual or automatic vehicles or 650,000 won to practice driving larger vehicles, such as trucks and buses.

Anyone already eligible to receive compensation from the National Rehabilitation Center will be excluded from this new program. This applies to people with mental disability levels of 1 to 4, those with encephalopathy, and those with hearing disabilities.

To apply for the municipal support, you can visit your nearby community center after obtaining your driver's license with documentation proving enrolment in driving lessons.

제주시, 장애인 운전면허교육비 지원

제주시가 장애인들의 운전면허 취득을 위한 교육비를 지원하기로 하고
신청자를 모집하고 있습니다.

제주시에 거주하는 등록 장애인 가운데 필기시험 합격자를 대상으로
제1종과 2종 보통면허의 경우 1명당 50만 원, 대형은 65만 원을 지원하게 됩니다.

단, 국립재활원을 통해 지원받을 수 있는 1~4급 지체 장애인이나 뇌병변 장애인, 청각 장애인 등은 제외됩니다.

지원을 희망하는 경우 운전면허를 취득한 뒤 교육비 확인 서류 등을 갖추고 읍면동주민센터로 신청하면 됩니다.
