Summer 2016 ranks as Jeju’s 2nd hottest
Average temperature in July and August: 28.9

This summer has turned out to be the second hottest in Jeju since records began in 1961.

The Jeju branch of the Korea Meteorological Administration says the average temperature in July and so far in August has been 28.9 degrees Celsius. That’s 1.7 degrees higher than the average of 27.2.

Only the summer of 2013 was hotter - the average then was a scorching 29.5 degrees.

Weather experts predict that temperatures will be either average or above average through the end of October, then drop considerably in November, when the difference between afternoon highs and overnight lows begins to grow substantially.

올 여름 제주 평균기온이 지난 1961년 기상관측이래 두 번째로
높았던 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주지방기상청이 발표한 올 가을철 전망에 따르면
지난달부터 이달까지 제주도의 평균기온은 28.9도로
평년 27.2도보다 1.7도 높았습니다.

이는 지난 2013년 29.5도에 이어 역대 두 번째로 높은 기온입니다.

특히, 오는 10월까지는 기온이 평년과 비슷하거나 높겠고, 11월부터는 기온이 떨어지며 일교차 큰 날이 이어질 것으로 제주지방기상청은 예상했습니다.
