Delegation to investigate St. Johnsbury Academy in the U.S.
Alleged problems in how school was granted permission for local campus

To get to the bottom of a number of allegations surrounding the newest international school to be built in Jeju, officials from the Provincial Office of Education will conduct an investigation at St. Johnsbury Academy’s main campus in the American state of Vermont.

The delegation of four will arrive at the school August 26th. They will be looking into alleged problems with the procedure in getting the school approved to open a new campus in Jeju.

The delegation hopes to clear all allegations and pave the way for the school to open as planned next year.

St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju is slated to open in September 2017 with the capacity to teach 1,254 students in 68 classes. It would be the fourth international school in the Jeju Global Education City.

제주도교육청이 4번째 국제학교인 세인트 존스베리 아카데미에 대한 각종 의혹 해소를 위해 실사단을 파견합니다.

제주도교육청은 해당 학교 인허가 과정에서 절차상 문제 등 각종 의혹이 제기되자 심의위원 4명으로 구성된 실사단을 오는 26일부터 미국 본교에 파견해 실사를 벌인다고 밝혔습니다.

실사단은 세인트 존스베리 아카데미 본교 이사회의 의결 절차상에 문제가 없었는지 여부 등에 대해 확인할 예정입니다.

한편 제주영어교육도시에 4번째로 문을 여는 세인트존스베리 아카데미는 68개 학급에 1천254명의 정원에 내년 9월 개교를 목표로 하고 있습니다.
