Police crackdown on product mislabeling ahead of Chuseok
109 food-related violations so far this year

Jeju Municipal Police will enforce a special crackdown on false country-of-origin labeling ahead of the Chuseok holidays.

Police will focus on agricultural food items most frequently used for ancestral rites and as holiday gifts. They will be looking for mislabeled and unlabeled products at major shopping outlets, traditional markets, and restaurants near major tourist attractions.

Police will also crack down on illegal butchery and the illegal distribution of livestock products.

So far this year, police have uncovered 109 food-related violations.

이를 위해 다음달 13일까지 대형마트와 재래시장, 주요관광지 식당 등을 대상으로 제수용품이나 선물용품으로 주로 쓰이는
농수축산물의 원산지 거짓표시와 미표시 행위를 단속합니다.

또 불법 도축과 부정식품의 유통행위에 대해서도 집중 단속할 방침입니다.

자치경찰단은 올들어 지금까지 모두 109건의 식품사범을 단속한 바 있습니다.
