The cost to hold ancestral rites this Chuseok will average 223,000 won if you’re buying the food at traditional markets, but it will be 316,000 won at major retail outlets.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation conducted a nationwide survey and found that the cost of food items that are placed on ancestral tables this Chuseok will be seven percent more expensive than last year at traditional markets. They will be nine percent more costly at large retailers.

The main food items causing the surge are domestic beef and vegetables. Supplies of both have tumbled, leading to higher prices.

올 추석 차례상 비용은 전통시장은 22만 3천원, 유통업체는 31만 6천 원이 들 것으로 조사됐습니다.

한국농수산식품유통공사가 전국 전통시장과 대형유통업체를 대상으로 추석 차례상 비용을 조사한 결과,

전통시장에서 차례상을 준비할 경우 지난해보다 7% 오른 22만 3천 원이 소요될 것으로 전망했습니다.

대형유통업체는 31만 6천 원으로 지난해보다 9% 올랐습니다.

특히 올해는 한우 사육두수 감소로 쇠고기 가격이 상승하고 폭염으로 농작물 작황이 좋지 않아
채소류 가격이 크게 오른 것으로 조사됐습니다.
