Asia Cruise Awards: Jeju named ‘best port of call’

In related news, Jeju was named Asia’s best port of call at the 2nd Asia Cruise Awards, held on the sidelines of the Asia Cruise Forum Jeju.

This is the fourth year of the forum, which draws industry insiders from around the region. It was the second edition of the awards.

Shanghai’s Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal was named the best home port, and Princess Cruises won the best cruise line award.

The award for the best vessel went to Royal Caribbean International’s Ovation of the Seas, which is Asia’s largest cruise ship. The special achievement award went to the Japan Waterfront Vitalization and Environmental Research Foundation.

Meanwhile, as a token of appreciation to Jeju, Royal Caribbean International donated a replica of their cruise liner, which is worth 100 million won.

제주도는 아시아 최고 기항지로 선정됐습니다.

최고 모항은 중국 상해 오송구 국제크루즈터미널이, 최고 크루즈 선사는 프린세스 크루즈가 선정됐습니다.

이와함께 최고 크루즈선에는 로얄 캐리비언 크루즈라인의 '오베이션 오브 더 씨즈호'가 수상했고 특별공로상은 일본항만연구재단에 돌아갔습니다.

한편 로얄 캐리비언 크루즈선사는 감사의 의미로 1억 원 상당의 모형 크루즈를 제주도에 기증했습니다.
