Application period extended for subsidized EV purchases
1,300 still available

Prospective buyers have been given an extra two months to apply for subsidized purchases of electric vehicles.

This is part of the provincial government’s goal of getting 4,000 more electric vehicles on island roads by the end of this year. The deadline for applications was originally August 26th, but it has been extended through the end of October.

Buyers who apply to purchase the cars this year will receive a 25 million won subsidy from the local government to cover the cost of the vehicle and a charger.

Eligibility has also been expanded in the second half of this year. Rental car companies and international school staff in Jeju now qualify for the grants.

So far, some 2,700 people have applied for the subsidized EVs, which means 1,300 are still available.

올해 하반기 전기차 보급사업에 대한 공모기간이 연장됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 올해 전기차 보급 목표 물량인 4천대 달성을 위해 당초 오늘(26일)까지인 공모기간을 오는 10월까지 두 달 연장했습니다.

전기차 구매에 따른 보조금은 한대당 충전기까지 포함해 2천500만원으로,
올 하반기부터는 렌터카 등 자동차대여사업자와 국제학교 종사자도 신청할 수 있도록 했습니다.

올해 전기차 보급 목표는 4천대로 지금까지 2천 700여대가 신청됐고,
천300대가 남아 있습니다.
