Province to compensate carrot growers
Drought damaged 300 hectares of farmland

The provincial government will compensate island carrot farms that were damaged in this summer’s drought.

As reported earlier by KCTV, the unusually dry weather in July damaged some 300 hectares of carrot farms - about 22 percent of the total.

The provincial government will provide 1.5 million won per hectare of damaged land to the growers, setting aside 450 million won for the support.

Farmers can apply for the aid through Wednesday at their nearest community service center. Officials will then conduct on-site inspections and distribute the money by September 4th.

가뭄 '당근' 피해농가 재해 복구비 지원

가뭄으로 파종기 당근 피해가 심각하다는 KCTV보도와 관련해 피해 농가에 재해 복구비가 지원됩니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 7월 가뭄으로 전체 당근 재배 면적의 22%에 달하는 300 헥타르가 파종 피해를 입었습니다.

제주특별자치도는 피해 농가에 헥타르당 150만 원씩 4억 5천만 원의 복구비를 지원하기로 했습니다.

피해 농가는 31일까지 읍면동사무소에 신고하면 다음달 4일까지 현장실사를 거쳐 복구비가 지급됩니다.
