Airport infrastructure expansion
Transport ministry to add check-in counters, security checkpoints, etc.

National authorities will expand the infrastructure at Jeju International Airport, which is nearing peak capacity.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will increase the number of check-in counters at the airport from 13 to 16 and install additional security and immigration checkpoints.

To ease traffic, authorities will build a new road and transfer center near the facility by 2018.

Meanwhile, Jeju’s second airport is scheduled to open by 2025. Officials plan to wrap up a feasibility study on it by the end of the year, and then begin in 2017 mapping detailed plans for the facility.

이용객 증가로 혼잡을 빚고 있는 제주공항에 여객서비스 개선을 위한 인프라가 확충됩니다.

국토교통부는 2018년까지 제주공항 내 체크인카운터를 현재 13개에서 16개로 늘리고, 보안검색과 출입국 심사 부스를 확충하기로 했습니다.

또 2018년까지 제주공항 우회도로와 광역복합환승센터를 완공해 공항 주변 교통혼잡을 개선하기로 했습니다.

이와 함께 여객 수요 증가에 대비하기 위해 오는 2025년 개항 예정인 제2공항의 예비타당성 조사를 올해안으로 마치고 내년부터 기본계획을 수립할 계획입니다.
