18 food labeling violations in Jeju so far this year
Most problems involved beef or pork products

Authorities have caught more than a dozen livestock product companies this year for mislabeling the country of origin on their products.

Lawmaker Wi Seong-gon was quoting data he received from the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries when he said 18 violations had been discovered in Jeju between January and August this year.

Beef and pork were the most frequently mislabeled food items… with seven violations each… followed by three mislabeling cases of chicken and one for lamb.

올 들어 제주에서 축산물 원산지 표시를 위반한 행위가 18건 적발됐습니다.

더불어민주당 위성곤 의원이 농림수산식품부로부터 제출받은 자료에 따르면,
올 들어 지난달까지 제주에서 적발된 축산물 원산지 표시위반 사례는 18건으로 집계됐습니다.

품목별로 보면 쇠고기와 돼지고기가 각각 7건으로 가장 많았고 닭고기 3건, 양고기 1건이었습니다.

특히 돼지고기의 원산지를 거짓표시한 행위가 6건으로 가장 많았습니다.
