[Anchor] This week on Jeju: A to Z, Todd Thacker takes a brief look at some fun, hands-on cultural activities which the Jeju National Museum has on offer for visitors over Chuseok, one of Korea’s major national holidays.

Nearly a quarter of a million people are expected to visit Jeju during Chuseok. Many islanders will be returning home to honor their ancestors, while others will come as tourists.
[Slug CG] Special events held at Jeju National Museum, Sept. 14-18
From Sept. 14 to the 18th, Jeju National Museum, one of the island’s oldest and representative museums, will offer a wide range of hands-on cultural events and activities for the whole family. It is setup to help people understand and appreciate traditional Chuseok customs, as well as to enjoy a pleasant day at the museum.
[Slug CG] Harvest festival games and children’s films screened daily
Activities include traditional festival games for families on the 16th of September from 12 to 3:30. And over the course of the 5-day schedule, everyday from 2 to 4 p.m. a different children's’ film will be screened in the museum’s main auditorium.
[Slug CG] Rice cake and cracker making on tap
Food is also a big part of the Chuseok festival. So visitors can try their hand at traditional rice cake making, which involves pounding the rice with a giant mallet. This program is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the 14th, and on the 15, you can make five-color fried rice crackers.
There will also be puzzle making, a chance to take a family photo, and face painting. All these events will be held in the museum’s courtyard and Exhibition Hall.
