Service which finds ancestral land gains popularity
Some 11,000 plots of land found since service started


As real estate prices continue to rise, an ancestral land finding service offered by the province is gaining popularity.

When it was first introduced in 2013, only 680 cases were filed. In 2014 that number rose to 880, and then in 2015, it skyrocketed to 3,100. Already this year, over 4,000 cases have been opened.

This number reflects the recent rises in real estate prices, according to experts.

Since the service was started by the provincial government in 2013, roughly 11,000 plots of ancestral land, measuring a combined 8.8 million square meters, have been located.

부동산 가격이 급증하면서
조상땅 찾아주기 서비스가 큰 호응을 얻고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면
지난 2013년 시행 첫 해만 하더라도 680 여건에 머물던
조상땅 찾아주기 서비스는
2014년 880건, 지난해 3천 100여건에 이어
올해의 경우 지난달까지 4천건을 넘고 있습니다.

이같은 현상은
최근 부동산 가격 상승을 그대로 반영하고 있습니다.

제주도는 지난 2013년부터 이 제도를 시행한 후
지금까지 1만 1천여필지에 880만 제곱미터의 조상땅을 찾아준 바 있습니다.
