8 Chinese citizens allegedly assaulted local restaurateur

Chinese authorities say they will deal severely with eight Chinese tourists who allegedly assaulted a Jeju City restaurant owner this month.

China National Radio quoted an official from the China National Tourism Administration… as saying… the case was being taken very seriously and that a team will be sent to Jeju to investigate it. The official then said the perpetrators of the act will face stern punishment, possibly including having their names added to the nation’s travel blacklist.

The incident happened on September 9th at a restaurant in Yeon-dong, Jeju City. The eight Chinese tourists allegedly assaulted the 53-year-old woman who owned the establishment, leaving her with a concussion. Five were arrested and three have been denied permission to leave the country.

한편, 제주에 관광온 중국인 관광객 8명은 지난 9일 제주시 연동의 한 음식점에서
50대 여주인과 식당손님을 집단 폭행한 혐의로 5명은 구속되고 3명은 출국 정지 됐습니다.
