Jeju City grassland area decreasing
570 fewer hectares than in 2010

New data shows that Jeju City is losing its grassland.

The latest figure is 8,900 hectares, which is both 55 percent of the total area of Jeju City… and 25 percent of the nation’s grassland.

The total has fallen by 570 hectares since 2010. Authorities say the decrease is the result of more of the land being converted to agricultural use and public facilities.

제주시가 최근 초지 관리실태를 조사한 결과 8천 900 헥타아르로 조사됐습니다.

이같은 초지면적은 제주도 전체의 55%, 전국의 25%를 차지하고 있지만
지난 2010년에 비해서는 570헥타아르 감소한 것입니다.

이같은 현상은 농경지 조성과 공공시설 또는 농업시설이 잇따라 들어서고 있기 때문으로 제주시는 분석하고 있습니다.
