Audit of local government and institutions next month
National Assembly members to address major issues facing island

National lawmakers will next month audit the provincial government for the first time in two years.

The National Assembly’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee will inspect the provincial government and the Jeju Free International City Development Center on October 7th.

On the same day, the National Defense Committee will conduct an on-site inspection of the Gangjeong civil-military tourism port, and it will look into a case revolving around the Navy’s right to indemnity in relation to the port.

The assembly’s Security and Public Administration Committee will then on October 11th audit the provincial government and the provincial police agency.

Some of the issues that will be covered during the upcoming audit include Jeju International Airport, which is operating at full capacity; the planned second airport for the island; Jeju’s visa-waiver program; and ways to solve crimes committed by foreigners on the island.

다음달 7일부터 제주 국정감사 실시

제주특별자치도에 따르면 국회 국토교통위원회는 다음달 7일, 제주특별자치도와
제주국제자유도시개발센터를 상대로 국정감사를 실시합니다.

또 같은 날 국회 국방위원회는 강정 민군복합항형 관광미항을 현장 점검해 해군의 구상권 청구 문제 등을 다룰 예정입니다 .

이어 안전행정위원회는 다음달 11일 제주도와 제주지방경찰청을 상대로 국정감사를 실시하게 됩니다.

이번 국정감사에서는 제주공항 포화문제와 제2공항, 무사증 제도, 외국인 범죄 대응 방안이 쟁점으로 부각될 전망입니다.
