This week on Jeju: A to Z, Todd Thacker takes a brief look at a popular and picturesque tourist destination, the Jeju Pony Pasture along the 1131 Road outside Jeju City.
[Report]
The Jeju pony is a hearty and beloved animal. One of the best places to watch them, all in a beautiful setting with wide-angle views of the ocean and Hallasan Mountain, is at the Jeju Pony Pasture southeast of Jeju City.

Designated Cultural Property Natural Monument No. 347
In fact there is even a term for this. Gosumokma (고수목마) refers to a peaceful scene of horses grazing freely on the slopes of Hallasan Mountain. Jeju ponies were designated as Cultural Property Natural Monument No. 347 in 1986.

Having spent the summer on this vast pasture, these Jeju ponies will soon be returned to the paddocks of the Jeju Livestock Institute. So now is your last chance to see them in this peaceful habitat before next spring.
