￦95.4b in restoration funding sought after Typhoon Chaba
Most earmarked for work on area streams


The provincial government is seeking nearly 100 billion won in national funding to deal with public sector damage caused by Typhoon Chaba.

Officials Friday added up the damage and put the total at nearly 20 billion won, but requested a total of 95.4 billion won in funding from the central government.

Of the total, around 25 billion won will go into repairing ports, fish tanks, and waterworks… and 70 billion won will be used for preventive recovery work in area streams. Around 70 percent of all restoration work will be conducted with state funding.

The province stressed that this estimate is for restoration work for only public facilities. It plans to use reserve funding to help in private-sector restoration efforts, and expand the scope of that aid from 3.3 billion to 12.8 billion won.

태풍 차바 피해 복구에 950억 여원이 투입될 전망입니다.

제주특별자치도는 중앙합동조사단 조사가 마무리된 어제(20일) 태풍 피해액을 197억원으로 집계하고
피해복구액으로 총 954억을 정부에 신청했습니다.

세부적으로는 항만과 어항 수도시설 원상복구에 248억, 하천 개선복구에 706억 등으로 전체 예산의 70% 정도가 국비로 지원됩니다.

제주도는 이번 예산은 공공시설 피해 복구에 한정된 것으로 사유재산 피해 복구에는 예비비 지원 규모를
기존 33억원에서 128억원으로 확대하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
