Trash bag prices going up 40% next year
Garbage disposal will be restricted to 6 PM-midnight


Local residents will be paying 40 percent more for trash bags next year.

Provincial council members on Friday voted on raising the price of the bags as part of an amendment to the provincial waste management law. Out of the 36 members present, 27 voted in favor, eight voted against, and one lawmaker abstained.

Ten liter ags will go from 180 to 240 won, 20-liter bags will go from 500 to 700 won, and the price of 50-liter bags will go from 1,250 won to 1,750 won.

A new time restriction for garbage disposal will also be enforced next year. Residents will only be allowed to bring out their waste from six p.m. until midnight.

내년부터 쓰레기 종량제 봉투 가격이 40% 인상됩니다.

제주특별자치도의회는 오늘 (21일) 오후 열린 임시회 본회의에서 이같은 내용을 담은 제주도 폐기물 관리 조례 개정안을 재석의원 36명 가운데 찬성 27명, 반대 8명, 기권 1명으로 가결했습니다.

이에 따라 10리터 쓰레기 봉투는 180원에서 240원으로, 20리터는 500원에서 700원, 50리터는 1천250원에서 1천750원으로 인상됩니다.

또, 생활 쓰레기 배출 시간도 내년부터는 저년 6시부터 자정까지로 제한됩니다.
