‘Groundless accusations regarding Ora Tourism Complex’
Odeung-dong citizens decry statements by environmental group


At a Monday morning press conference from the provincial council building, members of the Odeung-dong Development Association decried an environmental organization for raising allegedly groundless accusations about the Ora Tourism Complex, saying the group failed to thoroughly review the environmental impact assessment for the project.


The association members said they would press charges against the environmental group for reputational damage and financial losses if it continues to raise the issue.

On top of that, Odeung-dong citizens visited lawmaker Kang Gyeong-shik to protest his statement at the council last week about the province showing undue favor to the development of the Ora Tourism Complex.

제주시 오등동 발전협의회는 오늘 오전 제주도의회 도민의 방에서 기자회견을 열고 모 환경단체 소속 심의위원들이
환경영향평가 심의 보완서류를 제대로 검토하지도 않고 근거없는 특혜의혹을 제기하고 있다며 이 같은 주장이 계속될 경우 주민들의 명예실추와 경제적 손실의 책임을 엄중히 묻겠다고 강조했습니다.

이들은 이어 지난주 열린 제주도의회 임시 본회의 5분 발언에서 오라관광단지와 관련해 제주도가 사업 특혜를 주고 있다는 취지의 입장을 밝힌 강경식 의원을 항의 방문하기도 했습니다.
