Seogwipo takes hard stance on illegal land subdivision
City revokes construction permit


The Seogwipo administration has revoked the construction permit for a Gangjeong-dong housing complex after the owner attempted to skirt regulations by illegally subdividing the land.

The owner merged eight plots of land into one, then divided that into five within one month, transfering the rights of ownership for those five plots to different businesspeople.

Authorities day this division of the land was intended to avoid and/or cover up the results of environmental impact and cultural heritage assessments.

'토지 쪼개기' 주택단지 건축허가 취소


서귀포시가 이른바 토지 쪼개기로 각종 법적 규제를 피하려던 강정동 주택단지에 대해 건축 허가를 취소합니다.


서귀포시에 따르면, 해당 토지는 지난해 당초 8개 필지를 1개로 합병한 뒤 한달 만에 5개로 분할해 각기 다른 건축사업자에게 소유권을 이전했습니다.


서귀포시는 건축주가 이 같은 토지 쪼개기를 통해 환경영향평가와 문화재 지표조사 등을 피하고 사실을 은폐하려던 것으로 판단된다며 건축 허가 취소를 결정했습니다.
