Jeju land prices rise 7.06%
Fastest growth nationwide


Buyers keep snapping up local land, and that’s caused prices to rise at the fastest pace in the nation.


According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, from last
December through the end of the third quarter, land prices in Jeju were up 7.06 percent, far outpacing the national average of 1.97 percent.


Specifically, prices were up 7.48 percent in Seogwipo and 6.79 percent in Jeju City. Those were the top two growth rates in the country.


Researchers say strong demand for plots in coastal areas and around the site for the island’s second airport are the cause. The ministry says, though, that the growth rate is slowing down now.

제주에 투자 수요가 꾸준히 몰리면서 전국 최고의 땅값 상승세가 계속해서 이어지고 있습니다.


국토교통부가 발표한 전국 지가변동률에 따르면 올들어 지난달까지 제주의 땅값 상승률은 7.06%로 전국 평균 1.97%를 크게 웃돌며 전국에서 가장 높았습니다.


특히 서귀포시 땅값이 7.48% 오르며 전국에서 가장 높았고 제주시가 6.79%로 뒤를 이었습니다.


국토부는 제주의 땅값 상승률이 다소 둔화되고 있지만 여전히 제2공항 예정지와 해안가를 중심으로 투자수요가 몰리면서 전국에서 가장 높은 지가 상승률을 보이는 것으로 분석했습니다.
