Surge in air traffic
Jeju International handling 12% more flights per day

Jeju International Airport is handling an average of over 500 flights per day.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport says the daily average for the third quarter of the year is 508. That’s 12 percent more than during the corresponding period last year.

The facility is busiest around 9 p.m., when there’s an average 35 flights taking off or landing every two minutes.

The ministry attributed the surge in traffic to the increase in both domestic and foreign tourists traveling Jeju.



제주공항 항공 교통량 증가…하루 평균 508대


하루 평균 500대가 넘는 항공기가 제주 하늘길을 운항하고 있습니다.


국토교통부에 따르면 올 3분기 제주공항을 운항한 항공기 대수는 하루 평균 508편으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 12% 증가했습니다.


항공교통량이 가장 많은 시간대는 밤 9시로 이 시간대에 하루 평균 35대, 2분마다 한대 꼴로 운항한 것으로 파악됐습니다.


국토부는 제주를 찾는 내·외국인이 꾸준히 늘면서 항공 교통량도 증가하는 것으로 분석했습니다.
