￦9.2b in Typhoon Chaba compensation for farmers
Nearly ￦20b in losses reported


The government is planning to issue 9.2 billion won in compensation for farm damage caused by Typhoon Chaba.


The national government designated areas hit by the storm as special disaster zones, so it boosted the amount of relief. Around 1.6 billion won will go toward compensation for fertilizers and pesticides, 2.6 billion will be used to repair damaged greenhouses, and 4 billion won will be used to cover the local government’s disaster insurance premium.


The aid is not enough to cover all the losses the farming sector sustained, which is valued at a total of 19.6 billion won. 13.4 billion won in damage was done to crops, and Chaba caused 6.2 billion won in facility damage.

제주특별자치도가 태풍 차바로 피해를 입은 농가에 보상비로 92억원을 지원합니다.


이번 보상비는 특별재난지역 선포에 따른 국비지원 확대에 따른 것으로


농작물 폐작에 따른 비료와 농약 보상비로 16억원, 하우스 시설 비닐 지원비 26억 원 재해보험료 지자체 부담금 40억 등 입니다.


한편 이번 태풍 차바로 인한 농가 피해는 농작물 134억원, 농업시설물 62억 등 196억 원으로 집계됐습니다.
