Provincial government preps for winter
Plans in place to keep transportation running smoothly


Provincial authorities are working on a number of fronts to minimize problems this winter due to heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures.


By November 11th, the Jeju Disaster Prevention and Countermeasures Headquarters will ready all equipment and materials, like sand, for snow removal and road clearing.


Then on November 29th, representatives from the government, the military, and the public will participate in a drill on the 1100 Road, near the Jeju Provincial Livestock Institute. They will be working to ensure traffic moves smoothly in the area in the event of heavy snow.


Finally, provincial officials will enhance coordination with other agencies in a review of the manual that details how to assist travelers who are stuck at the airport because of bad weather. Those guidelines were drawn up in response to heavy snowfall last winter that left thousands stranded on the island.

제주특별자치도 재난안전대책본부는 오는 11일까지 제설 취약 구간에 대한해
모래 등 제설자재와 장비를 보강합니다.


오는 29일에는 1100도로 축산진흥원 진입로 구간에서 민관군 합동으로 폭설 대응에 따른 교통소통을 위 현장훈련도 실시합니다.


이와함께 올해 초 폭설로 마련된 공항체류객 지원메뉴얼도 점검해 유관기관 간 협조체계도 강화할 계획입니다.
