Seogwipo seizes apartment owned by Choi Soon-sil’s niece
Officials cite failure to pay taxes

The city of Seogwipo has seized a high-end apartment belonging to Jang Si-ho, who is both the niece Choi Soon-sil, the woman at the center of an influence peddling scandal involving President Park Geun-hye, and an increasingly central figure in the scandal, herself.

City officials seized the Daepo-dong residence Wednesday, claiming she was behind in her tax payments. By how much, they didn’t say.

Meanwhile, Jang’s whereabouts are unknown after she used this apartment and land she owns on the island as collateral to borrow hundreds of millions of won from Seogwipo Suhyup and other financial institutions.




서귀포시, 장시호 빌라 압류…"지방세 체납"


국정농단 핵심으로 지목받고 있는 최순실의 조카 장시호 씨가 소유하고 있는 서귀포 소재 고급빌라가 최근 행정시에 압류된 것으로 확인됐습니다.


서귀포시는 지방세 체납을 이유로 장시호 씨 소유의 서귀포시 대포동 소재 모 빌라를 지난 2일자로 압류했다고 밝혔습니다.


다만, 체납액의 규모에 대해서는 알려줄 수 없다는 입장입니다.


한편, 장 씨는 서귀포 수협과 제2금융권에서도내에 있는 빌라와 토지 등을 담보로
수 억원의 대출을 받고 행적을 감추고 있습니다.
