Province seeks amendment to environmental impact assessment
Officials want Ora Tourism Complex developer to redo water plans


The provincial government has ordered the developer of the Ora Tourism Complex to amend the environmental impact assessment for the project.


The province wants the developer to recalculate the water demand for the resort, minimize groundwater usage, make more use of other sources like recycled water, and make its own treatment system for sewage and other wastewater.


After examining the environmental impact assessment committee’s report on the project, provincial officials asked for the changes, saying they will apply strict standards governed by the rule of law.

제주특별자치도가 오라관광단지 환경영향평가 보완을 사업자측에 요구했습니다.


이번에 요구한 보완 내용은 지하수 사용량을 최소화하고 상수도와 중수도 등 다른 용수의 사용계획과 하수와 폐기물의 전량 자체 처리계획, 휴양콘도시설의 적정수요량 재산정과 조정 등입니다.


제주도는 환경영향평가 심의위원회로부터 심의결과를 제출받고 이를 검토하는 과정에서 보완을 요구하게 됐다며 법과 원칙에 따라 엄격한 잣대를 적용하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
