‘Elementary school not giving students enough food’
Education officials inspect school after KCTV report

The provincial office of education has taken action in response to a KCTV report on substandard school meals at a Jeju City elementary school.


A chief administrator and other officials were dispatched to the school Friday to see if the claims were correct.


Controversy erupted last month when it belatedly became public that the school was serving first and second grade students meals which were allegedly too small.


Parents say they began raising the issue with school officials in July, but that the situation never improved.


부실 급식 논란 초등학교 현장 조사


KCTV 뉴스가 보도한 제주시내 모 초등학교의 부실 급식 논란과 관련해 교육당국이 현장 조사에 착수했습니다.


제주도교육청은 오늘(4일) 행정국장을 포함해 학교 급식 주무부서 담당자를 해당 초등학교에 보내 사실 확인 작업에 들어갔습니다.


해당 초등학교는 지난 달, 점심시간 1,2학년들에게 제공되는 반찬으로 정량보다 적게 배식한 것이 뒤늦게 알려지면서 부실 급식 논란을 빚었습니다.


특히 학부모들은 지난 7월부터 이같은 부실 급식 문제를 제기했지만 개선되지 않았다고 주장하고 있습니다
