Closure of airport rental car center improves traffic flow
68% fewer vehicles

Traffic is reportedly flowing much better around the airport since the rental car center there was closed.


According to Jeju Municipal Police, the average number of cars visiting the airport per day has fallen by 68%, from some 10,000 before the closure to 3,700 afterwards.


That decrease has eased traffic around the airport itself and at Square 7, which is just outside. Both of those areas were often bumper-to-bumper before the change, but the average travel speed has increased 58 percent to 19 kilometers per hour.

제주공항 렌터카 하우스 폐쇄 이후 공항 이용차량이 줄고 교통흐름도 개선된 것으로 나타났습니다.


제주자치경찰단 교통정보센터에 따르면 렌터카하우스 폐쇄 이후 제주공항의 하루 평균 이용차량은 기존 1만 여대에서 3천 7백여 대로 68% 감소됐습니다.


이용 차량 감소로 그동안 극심한 교통 혼잡이 빚어졌던 7호광장과 공항 진입로의 주말 평균 차량 통행속도는 시속 19km로 렌터카 하우스 폐쇄 이전보다 58% 향상된 것으로 분석했습니다.
